I welcome the decision of Hon’ble Rajasthan High Court whereby the conduct of Indian Premier League (IPL) matches is restored to SMS stadium, Jaipur.

I’m happy  that both Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Rajasthan government have been directed to fulfil their respective roles for the conduct of IPL. It is now imperative for BCCI to conduct necessary inspection of the facilities at SMS and if required ask the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) to make improvements or modifications. Likewise, the state government has directed to continue with the MOU with RCA till the IPL series is over.

The court’s direction is that the President of RCA and Secretary RCA will jointly operate the accounts of the association and utilize the funds only for cricket development activities and joint signing of the undertaking to BCCI with regard to revocation of suspension by the President and the Secretary RCA will usher cohesiveness and harmony among the RCA ranks.

It should be amply clear that functional highhandedness and arbitrary actions to dislodge elected office-bearers is no more advisable. Mr R.S. Nandu is as much an elected secretary as Mr. C.P. Joshi is the president of RCA.And Nandu should not have been suspended most undemocratically in the first place.

I want to congratulate the Rajasthan team for making it to the finals of the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament where they will meet Delhi
